Smith Embankment – Peterhead Port
DockGuard have recently supplied the fender systems to the high profile Smith Embankment project at Peterhead Port in Scotland. The development of the quay was undertaken by a joint venture between Westminster Dredging B.V. and R.J. McLeod Ltd. DockGuard won the contract to supply the fenders by showing experience in design and manufacture of strong and robust fender systems such as these.
Protection of the Quay is provided by 12 fender systems utilising a DockGuard DCN1400 Cone Fender mounted behind a closed box construction steel frontal panel that is faced with UHMW-PE low friction facing pads.
The photographs illustrate the manufacture of the Steel Panels, the testing of the Cone Fenders and the installed fender systems.
